Move Your Money is a campaign started by Arriana Huffington and others to show how individuals could limit the power of the big banks and create a more sane, stable financial system. The idea is to "move your money out of the “Too Big To Fail” banks and into local community banks and credit unions."[1] At the website for Move Your Money, you are able to input your zip code and obtain a list of community banks and credit unions in your area rated "B" or higher based on government data and independent bank ratings.[2]

The campaign has been covered in over 150 media outlets. Many politicians and celebrities like Rep. Jan Schakowsky, Bill Maher, Michael Moore and Alan Cumming have endorsed the idea.[3] The viral campaign was kicked off with a Move Your Money short film created by documentary filmmaker Eugene Jarecki, which used the classic film It's a Wonderful Life as an analogy for modern predatory banking.

To date, an estimated 4 million Americans have moved their money.[4]
