Western Dressage

Western dressage is a form of western riding. Western dressage 'combines the Western traditions of horse and rider with Classical Dressage'.[1]

A western saddle is used for western dressage

Western dressage is ridden in traditional western horse tack.

The principles in western dressage are the same as in traditional dressage, with the focus being on the scales of training.

A rider can choose whether to compete or not. In competition, a judge issues written marks for the rider's test, which are created and published by the Western Dressage Association of America.[2]
