AnTech Ltd

AnTech was established in Exeter, England in 1992. The company designs and manufactures products, and provides services for the international upstream oil and gas industry.^[1] AnTech offers coiled tubing drilling services using proprietary downhole tools, and produces products for use in coiled tubing operations, completions, drilling and wireline/perforating operations.

Certified to design and manufacture ATEX products, AnTech is known for its work on improving safety, designing certified solutions for use in explosive environments, including wellhead outlets, rotary collectors and end of coil tubing detectors.^[2]

AnTech has developed two downhole bottom hole assemblies for use in coiled tubing drilling operations, the COLT™ and the POLARIS™. In 2002 AnTech was awarded a Meritorious Award for Innovative Engineering from Hart’s E&P magazine.^[3] It won the award in the downhole category in recognition of COLT™, its drilling system. In 2010, AnTech was awarded a Grant for Research and Development (GRAND) award from the South West Regional Development Agency ^[4] to fund development of its Polaris™ tool. AnTech has demonstrated the underbalanced drilling capabilities of its COLT tool in the Marcellus shale fields of north-eastern America ^[5] and has further well tests planned for both COLT and POLARIS in 2011.
