Hi! Long term reader, first time editor (Lie - I have edited before under my IP address, mostly correcting spelling mistakes) Interests: Tropical fish, tanks, Devon (where I am from), Buddhism, Chinese culture, Native American culture, Welsh/Scottish/Irish/Manx/Cornish/Breton cultures, maritime customs/culture/law/history...castles, cathedrals, photography and animal husbandry, which I have a minor degree in. I study with the Open University (English literature) and as a result I am often at my computer for long periods of time.
As my name would suggest, I come from Plymouth in Devon. My current location is Devon. I grew up on Dartmoor (on the HIGH moor - Dartmoor Forest) and have a passion for just about everything related to it.
I stick to basic vocabulary, so apologies if I come across as a complete idiot from time to time. Using "fancy" words is really not my style, this is an encyclopedia open to all - conducting your communications in clear, presentable English is something I strongly believe in, thanks.
And yes, I am extremely proud to come from Devon - why not? I don't use my identity at the expense of others, along with my serious distaste for people who try and enforce their identity biases on others. I am not trying to be Cornish or Celtic - I respect my neighbor as a Celtic nation. I don't identify as English - I grew up in a place with little pro-nationalist feeling - although I am ethnically English. If that helps.
