I live in New Zealand and collect piano rolls.
My main claim to fame is discovering a couple of rolls with historically important recordings that were thought lost for decades, namely 'Pleasant Moments - Ragtime Waltz' played by the composer, Scott Joplin, 'Texas Blues' played by the composer, Les Copeland, and 'Fever Heat - Ragtime Novelty' composed by Clarence Woods.
For the past four years I've been engaged in scanning the rolls, using a custom-built machine, which stores an electronic copy of the roll for posterity and also has the side benefit of creating a MIDI file of the performance. I offer these MIDI files free for download at my website, [1]
