1953: NATO vs Warsaw Pact (sometimes also known as the 1953: The Red Wave) is a single-player military turn-based strategy game developed by Wastelands Interactive and published for Microsoft Windows in 2014. In 2019 the game port to Nintendo Switch was announced.[1]

Development edit

The game was reported to be a "side project" of Leszek Lisowski, leader of Wasteland Interactive team, developed in his free time while the main team was focusing on the Worlds of Magic.[2][3]

Plot edit

The game is set in an alternative timeline where Stalin's death turns Cold War into World War III.

Gameplay edit

The game is played mostly on a hex-type map of Europe with fragments of Asia, Africa and USA. The game is mostly focused on combat (strategic movement of units), with limited diplomacy, economy and technology research menus.
