Paul Hussey is a native child of Newfoundland. He was born to Gordon Hussey and Eliza Annie Goobie on August 24, 1954 in the Newfoundland city of Corner Brook on the island west coast. The family moved to Upper Island Cove in 1960 and resided there until 1961. That year the family moved to Mount Pearl near St. John's.
