The Classic FM Hall of Fame is an annual poll of classical music tastes taken by the UK National radio station Classic FM, comprising the 300 most popular pieces of classical music as voted by the listeners.

Classic FM listeners vote for their 3 favorite classical music pieces, with the votes then gathered together to form a list of the 300 most popular pieces, which are revealed on air over the Easter Weekend. According to Classic FM, the poll is the largest of its kind in the world.

History edit

The first Hall of Fame was broadcast in 1996. In this year the chart was topped by Max Bruch's Violin Concerto No.1 in G minor Opus 26. The piece remained at No. 1 for four more years before being replaced by Rachmaninov's 2nd Piano Concerto in C Minor in 2001.
