Organisation selects 50 most popular companies in Nigeria and announced the first edition tagged Top 50 brands Nigeria 2013…. See reference below

The 2013 edition and the evaluation were carried out by APT Brand International Limited in association with Vconnect Global services limited and the Certified Board of Administrators of Nigeria, CBAN.

According to the project coordinator in an interview on CNBC Africa and other media, popularity was the defector factor in this selection. However, criteria are

Criteria for nomination and selection are:

• Popularity, media friendliness.

• Corporate social responsibilities

• Customer service delivery

• Visionary, Innovation

• Market acceptability and loyalty

• Contribution to national unity, growth and development.

An online and phone base surveys were used to arrive at the 50 top brands.

Also included in the survey is The Brands to Watch- “a list of 10 brands with significant brand building ambition and are promising.”

Criticism: Some important and well-known brands were conspicuously missing from the list, i.e. Union Bank, Conoil, Aero contractor…
