Why I No Longer Protect My Talk Page
Guess you are wondering if I have gone darn near crazy eh? Well, the short answer is no...I'm relatively sane, happy, and healthy :). The long answer is that I rather see a talk page flood over a main page flood any day. Its silly to have to constantly shuffle through protecting/reprotecting and constantly fear when they'll hit next. Fact of the matter is...they'll always hit next. Even if I protect my talk page for months at a time, chances are they'll be back! This would lead to my talk page being completely shut off to innocent new users. I am not willing to let it get to that point. I truly appreciate the RC patrollers that are kind enough to lend much of their time to protect my talk page during onslaughts and apologize for the hassle.
So I ask, please try to avoid the overwhelming temptation to hit the Protect tab :)!
