Your article Tunak tunak

edit

The article you wrote here appears to have been a redirect to Tunak Tunak Tun. The English Wikipedia does not parse the word "OJHAUS" as a redirect; I've fixed this accordingly. Do forgive me if this was not your intention. --Dennis The Tiger (Rawr and stuff) 17:59, 26 July 2010 (UTC)

Sorry, I was trying to write OHJAUS, but I typed it wrong. --Pekpekpek (talk) 18:15, 26 July 2010 (UTC)
Please write "REDIRECT", not "OHJAUS". Thanks Sheeana Talk 04:15, 31 July 2010 (UTC)
OHJAUS will do exactly same thing as REDIRECT. --Pekpekpek (talk) 06:38, 1 August 2010 (UTC)
Actually, #OHJAUS only works in fi.wikipedia and other Finnish-language sites. Here it just starts a numbered list.[1] Jafeluv (talk) 21:06, 11 September 2010 (UTC)

Quick note on WoW guilds

edit

You will probably want to find some references of the two guilds being mentioned by mainstream media, or by Blizzard Entertainment themselves, such as listings of them doing events at BlizzCon. You will also want to list reliable sources to prove claims such as them being the "top" guilds, and winning competitions. Without these references, they are liable to be deleted due to lack of notability. Please see WP:Notability for further information. Hope this helps, --Taelus (Talk) 15:42, 14 August 2010 (UTC)

The article John Pyle (gamer) has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Jayjg (talk) 21:02, 12 September 2010 (UTC)

Nomination of Ensidia for deletion

edit

A discussion has begun about whether the article Ensidia, which you created or to which you contributed, should be deleted. While contributions are welcome, an article may be deleted if it is inconsistent with Wikipedia policies and guidelines for inclusion, explained in the deletion policy.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ensidia until a consensus is reached, and you are welcome to contribute to the discussion.

You may edit the article during the discussion, including to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Jayjg (talk) 21:08, 12 September 2010 (UTC)

In Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ensidia, you wrote:
"Okay then, what shall I do then that people will not delete the articles I'v made (they already did delete 2 of them, even when they did have sources)? --Pekpekpek (talk) 16:01, 16 September 2010 (UTC)"
I have decided to answer you here, since this is not directly related to the deletion discussion. If you want to write articles that aren't going to be deleted, you need to write articles about topics that meet the inclusion guidelines set forth at WP:Notability. Content in Wikipedia needs to be sourced (i.e. it needs to have citations) with reliable sources. Most gaming guilds are not notable, outside of the community of people involved in that particular game. If you want to write about Ensidia, consider contributing to (or creating) a World of Warcraft wiki. However, for Wikipedia, the guild will only be considered for inclusion if independent sources (e.g. a gaming magazine) has written about them. The article Nolifer has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable neologism, a word just made up.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 07:46, 14 September 2010 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on WarcraftMovies.com requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. (talk) 11:24, 8 November 2010 (UTC)

The article Paragon (guild) is being discussed concerning whether it is suitable for inclusion as an article according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Paragon (guild) until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.

    • Pek, if you want to save the article, you really should list the 3 or 4 best sources (or more) and provide a brief idea, in English, about what they are and what they say. Otherwise the article is going away. You need to show it meets WP:N, and right now we have no details and I can't read the sources... Hobit (talk) 01:45, 3 January 2011 (UTC)
Okay, where should I post them? --Pek (talk) 16:41, 3 January 2011 (UTC)
Re-creating the article the day after it was voted for deletion isn't going to work. It might even be 'speedied'. Consensus was that the group is not notable. --Habap (talk) 20:48, 4 January 2011 (UTC)
I'v added very many REALIBLE sources to the articles. I did the article again cause no one answered my question and still someone deleted the article. --Pek (talk) 21:41, 4 January 2011 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from WarcraftMovies.com, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Whose Your Guy (talk) 06:47, 27 December 2010 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Paragon (guild), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

• I removed the speedy, but would like to see some basic translation of the sources (or at least quotes and general sense of the 3 or 4 best). Else it is likely heading back to AfD or getting otherwise deleted. Hobit (talk) 21:15, 4 January 2011 (UTC)

Bart Simpson

edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, as you did to the article Bart Simpson, please cite a reliable source for the content of your edit. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. Take a look at Wikipedia:Citing sources for information about how to cite sources and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Gran2 21:45, 16 January 2011 (UTC)

MTV3 is realible source. --Pek (talk) 21:48, 16 January 2011 (UTC)
Okay please point out where in that source it says Bart was originally going to be called "Mort Simpson" because, forgive me, I don't read Finnish. And, forgive me, for being somewhat skeptical with what you are claiming, because it's just, I find it hard to believe something as substanial as this would only be mentioned by a Finnish news source and not bY any of the countless US sources from the last 22 years. Gran2 22:01, 16 January 2011 (UTC)
I probably should have pointed out that it is video source. Is video source acceptable? Because at the moment I don't know any other sources which mentions that Bart was originally going to be Mort. Anyway, if you look the video you will notice at 00:18:57 that Bart should'v been Mort and you will be able to understand it even if you don't speak Finnish because the employee (Bonita Pietila) talks in English language and there will be picture which points it out quite clearly. Hopefully this helped. --Pek (talk) 22:06, 16 January 2011 (UTC)
Here is screenshot from that video source. It says: "Boy was at that point for one day Mort, not Bart." (translation from Finnish: "Poika oli siinä vaiheessa vielä päivän Mort, ei Bart.". --Pek (talk) 22:19, 16 January 2011 (UTC)

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Bart Simpson. Users who edit disruptively or refuse to collaborate with others may be blocked if they continue.

In particular the three-revert rule states that:

  1. Making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period is almost always grounds for an immediate block.
  2. Editors violating the rule will usually be blocked for 24 hours for a first incident.
  3. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes. Work towards wording, and content that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If edit warring continues, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. 5 albert square (talk) 22:19, 16 January 2011 (UTC)

Stop deleting it then, please try another browser if you can't play the video. --Pek (talk) 22:20, 16 January 2011 (UTC)
I just did, it still doesn't work. Comes up with an error message in a foreign language. I'm guessing I'm not able to view the video because I'm not in that country or something? So therefore please find another source or other Wikipedians will be the same. Thanks.--5 albert square (talk) 23:13, 16 January 2011 (UTC)
It's not my fault that you can't view it, and it is most likely because of your settings, not your country. --Pek (talk) 23:14, 16 January 2011 (UTC)
Could you please save a screenshot of the error to image bank like ImageShack and I'll try to solve the problem for you. --Pek (talk) 23:16, 16 January 2011 (UTC)
I'm not seeing it either. The Simpsons makes millions of dollars -- people talk about it all over and there are numbers of books out there. If this were true, I think it would be said somewhere else in addition to a a Finnish language video that none of us except Pek (including me) can get to actually work. Banaticus (talk) 23:20, 16 January 2011 (UTC)
I understand what your saying, but at the beginning of the video the host of the program (45 minuuttia) tells that the show will reveal something secret, which most likely refers to the thing where Bonita Pietila says that Bart was going to be Mort. I'll however still try to find another source, but so far it has been hopeless. --Pek (talk) 23:25, 16 January 2011 (UTC)
Exactly, ie on one of the hundreds of DVD commentaries. CTJF83 chat 23:23, 16 January 2011 (UTC)
I got tip from IRC channel. They told me that you have to have Silverlight -program installed to be able to view that kind of videos outside Finland (meaning that your Internet Service Provider (ISP) is located in Finland). Hopefully that isn't too much asked for. --Pek (talk) 23:32, 16 January 2011 (UTC)
Also they told that you can't view it if you are using Linux, so please if you have Windows try to run the video on it, it should work on Max OS X too. --Pek (talk) 23:35, 16 January 2011 (UTC)
I've fully protected the page for 24 hours so the edit warring may not continue. Please read WP:3RR as well. AnemoneProjectors 23:33, 16 January 2011 (UTC)
This is to let you know that I've started a discussion at Talk:Bart Simpson that you may be interested in.--5 albert square (talk) 23:58, 16 January 2011 (UTC)
Yes I have noticed that, but thanks for the note anyway. --Pek (talk) 00:00, 17 January 2011 (UTC)

I just wanted to let you know in regards to this that I have reviewed the report at the edit warring noticeboard, and you are well in violation of the three revert rule as well as engaged in an edit war in general. For now, I see you've engaged in discussion and the page protected, so I won't block you this time, but please be aware starting up this edit war again when the protection expires or behaving this way in the future will lead to a block from editing. Seraphimblade Talk to me 06:04, 17 January 2011 (UTC)

Hello
It's come to my attention that the same information about Bart originally going to be called Mort has been added to the Bart Simpson article on the Finnish Wikipedia, I understand by yourself. Could you please remove this as per the discussion at Talk:Bart Simpson? Many thanks for your co-operation.--5 albert square (talk) 02:11, 23 January 2011 (UTC)
I'm not sure but it seems that Finnish and English Wikipedia have a quite different policies about everything. One big difference is probably that in Finnish Wikipedia we accept Finnish language sources as much as English language sources, thats why I don't think it should be deleted from there, but you can of course contact some of Finnish Wikipedia administrators like Otrfan. Hopefully that helped. --Pek (talk) 07:39, 23 January 2011 (UTC)
It's not about the reliability of the source. It's about having one person making an ambiguous statement that goes against the established story which is supported by more reliable sources. -- Scorpion0422 13:19, 23 January 2011 (UTC)
