Benedicto “Bong” Ducat (born 1957) is a Filipino impressionist painter, and is now teaching at the University of Santo Tomas College of Fine Arts and Design. He is noted for his plants, flowers and nature paintings done in droplet - like brush strokes and using bright colors.

Early life

Benedicto Ducat was born in Tondo, Manila on May 6, 1957[1] Bong is the son of Emerenciana Ducat and Abraham Ducat. During his elementary days, he had been fond of joining art contests. He won 1st prize in Melchora Aquino Drawing contest by the year 1967. He finished his college education at the University of Santo Tomas College of Architecture and Fine Arts in Manila, with a degree in Painting.

Employment history

By the year 1980-1981, Bong worked as an Instructor at the Tech. University of the Philippines. The following year, he worked as a Visualizer in Abqaiq, Saudi Arabia. The same year until 1987, He was a self-employed Sculptor at the Holy Images/Statues. In 1987-1989, He was a Finishing Department Head in FILMUNDO Export Corporation, it is a company wherein they make Philippine handicrafts, houseware, gifts/novelty items, Christmas decor and holiday decor. In 1989-1990, He was a supervisor at LAHI Crafts, Inc. In 1990-1992, He was an Instructor at the Philippine Women's University. Lastly, He now works as a professor at the University of Santo Tomas College of Fine Arts and Design.
