The Honest Johns are from Newcastle Upon Tyne. They first took to the stage at Tiffanys in 1986, releasing Grandfather Of Gold the same year on Minehead Records. The Band toured and recorded constantly without ever releasing any more material, finally splitting in the early 90s.
Firestation Records[1] from Germany became aware of all this unreleased material and under the name of Meteor 1986/90 finally released most of it. It's now officially listed as sold out.
The Honest Johns returned to the studio and released Songwriters of the North in 2007 and Sundance in 2011. Both albums are available on iTunes.
