Since May 2021, I am paid to work in the communications department of the Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society (RCC) in Munich. The RCC is a non-profit institution, and a joint initiative of the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and the Deutsches Museum. The RCC is financially supported by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research. The RCC is an interdisciplinary research institute in the environmental humanities and social sciences. I consider the improvement of Wikipedia articles from the fields of the environmental humanities, and of environmental history in particular, as one of the responsibilities of my position. To ensure that no conflict of interest occurs, I work in the following ethos:

  • Anything I add to Wikipedia, I consider as being relevant to the respective article and helpful for a broader understanding of the environmental issue at hand. If you disagree, feel free to get in touch on my talk page.
  • The content I add will always be in line with my own values. Along with this, I support the respective missions of both the RCC and Wikipedia, which means no conflict of interest to me. The mission of the RCC is to provide objective and thoroughly researched information to look at issues of our time in their entirety. This fundamental idea is in sympathy with Wikipedia's mission.
