HELMCA Hellenic Electroacoustic Music Composers Association The Hellenic Electroacoustic Music Composers Association (HELMCA) is the only National association of electroacoustic music in Greece and registered as a non-profit organization (act. 1059.91/2001). Its members are active composers and sound artists who use creatively the advancements of music technology and with their work explore and produce a variety of musical approaches and forms of sonic art. Moreover, HELMCA is the official Greek Federation of the International Confederation of Electroacoustic Music (ICEM). Furthermore, is the national member of the IREM - International Rostrum of Elactroacoustic Music in UNESCO. It has more than 70 members and organizes various national and international events.

The date of foundation of HELMCA is the year of 2002 and comes as a result of a new period for the development of electroacoustic music in Greece. This new period is characterized by a number of emerging and emerged composers with national and international activity in major festivals and distinctions in composition competitions. Moreover, courses on music technology and electroacoustic music are part of the curriculum of the higher education institutes. [1]

HELMCA became the Greek National Federation member of the CIME (International Confederation of Electroacoustic Music) since June 2006. [2]

  • Promotion of them in Greece, Europe and worldwide
  • Strengthen collaboration & solidarity
  • Protect moral and physical interests
