The Tank, the Swan and the Balloon is a concert video and DVD, directed by David Mallet, recorded live at the Manchester Apollo 8 June 1992 as part of Erasure's 'Phantasmagorical Entertainment' tour. The concert includes all ten songs from Chorus, Erasure's most recent album at the time the tour started, all four songs from Abba-esque and exclusively live cover versions of "Stand By Your Man" and "Over The Rainbow". The tour itself bridged the period from the last single released from Chorus and the release of Pop! The First 20 Hits.
The concert was originally only released on VHS video in 1993 but was re-released on DVD in November 2004.

edit- DVD (ERASDVD2/ERASDVD2NTSC/9276-9)
A DVD of the same concert was released on 22 November 2004 (7 December in the US) featuring both 5.1 and stereo sound. The package included a second bonus disc featuring interviews and a behind the scenes documentary, along with a poster and booklet featuring artwork used in the original Phantasmagorical Entertainment tour programme and merchandise. The DVD was available in PAL (all regions), regions 2-6 NTSC and region 1 NTSC.
The DVD version of the concert is broken down into 30 tracks compared to the 29 of the video, adding "Intro" to that start. There is however no additional material; "Intro" is the sounds and instrumentation which form the first part of "Siren Song", the first track on the video.
