Generalization of main anatomical articles edit

This is just an (ongoing) evaluation of the most important anatomical articles in regards to:

  • How well they portray the common traits of an anatomical feature, as found in most or all species with said feature (taking the least common ground-approach)
  • The degree of which it contains imagery (as in photos or diagrams) that showcase the variety/differences within the subject matter (when applicable)
Main article Related/specific articles Remarks
Brain Human brain -
Eye Mammalian eye, Human eye, Mollusc eye -
Tooth Human tooth, Horse tooth Should be expanded on primate teeth in general
Heart Human heart Main article lacks example images of non-human hearts
Lung Human lung -
Kidney - Human-specific parts to be moved into Human kidney?
Liver - Human-specific parts to be moved into Human liver (currently a redirection)?
Stomach - Human-specific parts to be moved into Human stomach? Regardless, the section In other animals could very well be integrated into Anatomy of the Stomach as a subsection
Penis Penis (animal), Human penis Merge Penis (animal) into Penis (as the only beings having penises are animals anyway)
Foot Paw, Hoof Human-specific parts to be moved into Human foot? Needs expansion on feet of other animals, as well as paws and hooves
Mouth - Very little information about mouths in general. The section In non-human animals should probably have its contents moved into the introduction
Vulva, vagina, Clitoris - Definitely have enough content on the human anatomy to warrant a move to human-specific articles. However, the extent of generic information may be sparse
Testicles - Needs a bit more variation in example imagery, at the least
Skin Human skin -
Hair Human hair growth Some sections in the main article (especially the latter ones) would probably fit better on the human hair growth article?
Mammary gland Breast, Udder -
Uterus - Lacks example images of non-human uteri
Ear - Needs expansion and some cleaning up first
