Octaga is an independent privately held software company based in Oslo, Norway. ([www.octaga.com])Octaga AS is a producer of world class, interactive 3D software products for presentation, training, operation and maintenance. Octaga has been a pioneer in developing the interactive 3D viewers and applications especially within Oil and Gas and AEC industries. Octaga has today 18 employees with the main office in Oslo, Norway. Octaga is owned by the founders and employees by 70%. Telenor Venture IIV AS holds 18% of the shares.

History Octaga AS was established in 2001 as a spin-off company from Telenor Communications ASA. The company was funded by a group of researchers from Telenor R&D led by Ola Ødegård. During the 1990 this group performed pioneer research in the field of Virtual Reality. Octaga has invested in developing interactive 3D viewing solutions and how to reuse 3D data that is already available. Octaga released its first 3D viewing product in 2002, Octaga Player. Octaga Player has more than 1 000 000 users world-wide. Products and services Octaga choose to build its technology gaming technology and on ISO standards like ISO X3D, tbe buildingSMART standard IFC, and ISO 15926 for the Oil & Gas industry. Octaga Player has been downloaded more than one million times from the company’s web site (www.octaga.com). Octaga has released the following products: Octaga Player (VRML,X3D) Octaga Panorama (big screen) Octaga Modeller (IFC) Octaga Enterprise Suite (Streaming large 3D CAD models, PDMS, ProE,IFC) Octaga Exporter (3DS Max to VRML) In addition to making viewing software and interactive 3D applications, Octaga produces high quality video animations. Octaga has major customers such as Shell, Statoil, FMC Technologies and General Electric Oil & Gas. Octaga has delivered the Octaga Enterprise Suite for operation and maintenance of the Shell operated Ormen Lange Processing Plant and subsea installations, Octaga Panorama systems for FMC Technologies for their exhibitions, and Big Screen video animations for Statoil.
