I am from Serbia This is my user page, welcome! I will mostly write summarized books or comedies that Greeks (and ancient Greeks) wrote a long time ago.

Fortounatos

This is a comedy written by Markos Antonios Foskolos, dated to 1655.

The abandoned baby found and raised by the merchant Giannoutsos 16 years earlier is now of an age to be married, and his adoptive father decides to make him a gift of the best bride he can find. However, the young Fortunatos is already in love with Petronella and is sure that he wants to marry her. True love encounters difficulties when the rich but elderly doctor Louras decides that he too wants to marry Petronella. Although the situation seems hopeless, an unexpected discovery will help the young hero, averting the ill match and bringing happiness to those who deserve it.

Moral; ? I do not understand either, but I did sort of laugh

Platos allegory of the cave

This is a part of the Republic written by Plato, dated to 375 BC. It really makes you pick up your mind and its a really good story (either way, the Republic is generally an awesome book)

3 people are chained in a cave, forced to look at shadows for their entire life. One of them gets his chain broken, and goes outside to see the world. The astounding bright color coming from the fire makes it harder to see for him, however he does not come back to the cave. He glazed at water and could barely see his reflection, so he stared and he saw himself; he went back to the cave and told the 2 remaining people that there is something outside, like a paradise. They called him crazy; meanwhile he could no longer see the shadows on the cave's walls.
