Leivik (Leon) Chanukoff (February 3, 1893-September 24, 1958) was a Yiddish-language writer and sculptor.
Biography
editChanukoff was born in Olchovo, Russia and immigrated to America in 1914.[1] He began writing in Russian before switching to Yiddish around 1916.[2] In 1934, Abraham Aaron Roback described him, with Baruch Glassman, as one of the two best young Yiddish fiction writers currently working.[3]
