The dusk was newly set when my radio's hiss flared to life with unusal intensity and in a voice almost inperceptable, it called out, specifically, to me. "Don't be afraid, the savior has come to deliever us from the slings of oppression, from the tyranny of humanity. He was bringing a new salvation, He told, and our societies' problems would soon be old. When He arrived, all of Sol's worlds would cheer. BERBERABE-HORR

About Orson Zedd

edit

He claims to be giving an impartial view of history, but is, in his heart of hearts, a devout Arzaist, and its pretty clear to his editors. However he's off on his own because his views of his religion are quite different.

Millennial English is one of the most well preserved languages being lingua franca for programming.

Frosty is a Jötunn imprisoned by Odin in a mystical fabric that was, long ago, fabricated into a top hat. Adam Prometheus Frankenstein wants the secret of life, answers which he couldn't even find in the answers in Knowledge Esoterica

Celadon #918E5B

Megan could remember that Christmas morning. The blinking red light in her bedroom window could only have been created by Rudolph, therefore Santa was still here. With all the gusto only an 8 year old could muster, she bolted down the stairs. She hadn't noticed the gifts in front of the fireplace or the stockings filled with alleged cheer. She paid no mind to the half eaten cookies, the spilled milk.

The only individual jolly and plump she could make out was the police officer speaking with Papaw Gene. When recalling the events, she could only remember bits of their conversation, "...thought we had found her stash. Even stopped taking my medicine to keep her clean."

"No we were at Christmas at Cottonplant until about 8. Went driving around to see people's lights after that. Put the kids right to bed, and I went to shower. That's when I found her."

The two looked up at her, "Megan, oh dear, please go back to bed."

Services were day after New Year's, that was about how long it took for all the far flung family to reunite. Cousins Megan had never met before, and would never see again, all gave their condolences for the loss of her mother.

An idea for a story--Wild west of time travel, like the internet before the cops got wise to it.

Gently sloshing mud swirled in his pan. Slowly rocking back and forth, bits of deutrius and dirt dribbled from the lip. Today had been a good day for Tiger, eight vials pregnant with gold dust. No one around for thousands of miles, in fact as in name, he was alone, totally, completely isolated. No one to intrude in his territory, no one who could.

Dobbing up the last of the pan's gold dust with his snuffer bottle, Tiger's attention quickly turned to his fishing line. A rainbow trout had found her way to Tiger's lure, shimmering in the summer sun. She'd thought she'd found an easy meal, but the only meal here was her. Fish wasn't the worst diet in the world. It wasn't as though Tiger was going to go reap and thresh his own wheat for bread. The only downside to the meat heavy diet was it attracted one too many grizzlies and direwolves for his liking.

The handy pocket guidebook he'd bought before mentioned a number of wild plants he could eat. The woods were lousy with them. But searching them out took time. Time he could spend panning for gold. Today, however, he seemed to be over his quota, and perhaps the trout and some wild vegetables wouldn't be remissed. There was some camas up the hill and there was some bittercress near the camp. He'd hoped for some salisfy, but hadn't found any. While he couldn't be sure, it was likely that salisfy was native to Europe, so there'd be no way it could be here. Jacket full of gold and line resplendent with fish, Tiger headed for his camp, and would probably have slept well, nothing odd or out of the ordinary, had he not noticed smoke in the distance. There'd been no lightning, but primeval forests were well known tenderboxes, unabated the fire could spread, consume his habitat and, more importantly, himself.

As he approached it, it became clear the fire wasn't spreading. Without firebreaks, there wasn't any good reason a fire wouldn't spread. Tiger felt the pin pricks up and down his back, a fear worse than fire. It couldn't possibly be--how could it be?

A burly man, a full head taller than Tiger, approached, and gave a roucous belly laugh. "Hoyt damn son, I thought you were a direwolf."

Tiger's head reeled; it was hard to process the sheer improbability, "You can't be here! How is this possible?"

The large man replied, "Got my prospector's permit and hunting permit, and they plopped me down here. Ain't it something?"

"No, no no no."

"Well maybe not everyone is impressed but I still think it's a miracle of science. Wait, I know you. You're Tiger! Name's bear, it's a real pleasure" The man nodded to himself and then extended a hand.

Tiger didn't reciprocate, he knew the how, so now he needed the, "Why are you here?"

"Well I got out of college with about thirty-five grand in student loan debt. Then my daughter had to have emergency surgery, and we didn't have insurance at the time, so I ended up about hundred grand in the hole. Anyway, read about how you struck it rich here in Montana like a million years ago, so I saved up and gottem to send me here so's I can make some green for my family and get us outta the hole."

"But I haven't gone back yet, there's no way that you can be here."

"Oh well," Bear mused, "Perhaps time doesn't work like that? I'm no scientist, but
