Family Systems Engineering edit
Family Systems Engineering is an approach to family life, personal transformation and nation building that was created by Praise Oladimeji Fowowe in Nigeria in 2015 after 16 years of working with various families and studying models of why some families fail and while others work, and how this affects the development of any society. The study is based on the premise that the most important nation on earth is the family because the family is the production factory of the society. It takes a look into the relationship between how a family can "engineer" an individual and how this either empowers or sabotages their marriage or their impact in the society.
It classifies families into developed, developing and undeveloped, and how a marriage between products of two different classes of families can become chaotic without a recognition of the engineering system of their previous system and who they must become to create a desired family.
Family Systems Engineering defines marriage as the coming together of a man and a woman from two existing nations to form a new nation whose culture will give our world rest and promote the best interest of all.
The promoters of Family System Engineering have created interventions that analyses people’s family life issues using diagnostic tools such as personality assessment, national engineering checks, love language assessments (originally made popular by Gary Chapman) and marital assessments to elicit the challenges couples face and use the Family Systems Engineering model to create intervention that is believed can help reduce divorce rate as well as global terrorism.
It sees a family through the screen of governmental systems and seeks to find the best form of system that can support the desires of every family and how an unemotional system can deliver the bliss they seek if well followed.
History and Conception edit
According to Praise Fowowe of the Center for Sex Education and Family Life, Family Systems Engineering is the study of the variables that could be responsible for the state of our world, how we can alter the systems that influence human behavior from the family, and the infusion of a new code that automatically creates a predetermined future (restoration of love and peace in the society).
The study is a thought process that takes a look into how the structure, frames and system of families affect the products of the family, and how their deployment into the society ultimately affects the quality of the society.
The study examines how developed families can create a developed society, how underdeveloped families can become a threat to the world, and how an intentional system can produce quality individuals who can create a quality world.
It presupposes the family as the most important nation on earth.[2] This study postulates that everyone is a product of a family system (upbringing, community, experience); the system is what sustains the purity or the pollution of our world. If the right systems that focus on the best interest of all are deployed, we may witness a world of genius where the strong assists the weak and love for God and humanity become the way of life for everyone.
Early Development edit
Praise Fowowe was admitted to study Sociology at the then Ondo State University in 1995 but switched to Accounting in the year 1996 only to realize he wasn’t cut out for the course but instead of switching back to Sociology he chose to remain and spend time asking questions about his observations about the roles people’s upbringing and exposure play in who they become. He sought to know why some of his mates are able to rise above peer pressure while others succumb to same. He ran a study on the role of faith and its effectiveness in altering human behavior. Praise worked with Babatunde Abraham, Adebayo Olushola to question several concepts that people have held to be true and after graduation left for the Northern part of Nigeria for his mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) where he continued his study on the role of the family in engineering human outcomes. He spent some time working with Kayode Momolosho who was a missionary to Koma Hills.
In 2001 Praise Fowowe started working with one of Africa’s foremost marital televangelist and spent 2years studying her model and along the line encountered Jerome Onipede’s work on personality and human transformation and became his student it was from Jerome that he stumbled on the DISC model of psychologist William Moulton Marston as well as the works of Chris Carrey from where Praise developed his own personality assessment model which he calls the brand of car model which broke personalities down to Intimidating hummer, creative convertible, dependable truck and systematic ford.
Praise took his model and study to Ajegunle Apapa in lagos state and ran it while working with 480 teenagers and young adults over a period of 7years to understand the effectiveness of human re-engineering and modeling in transforming human behavior. He worked alongsides Chris Olukoju, Oluwatosin Afolabi, Felicia Oyana on the Gold in the Slum project popularly known as uncommon man network which studied and influenced human behavior once a week over a period of 7years and the result was phenomenon. The work opened the team up first hand to how young people learn faster by the models they see regularly and how the lifestyle of those role models can unconsciously affect their reality. He had a brief stint with Fela Durotoye who was Nigeria’s leading personal effectiveness trainer and Olakunle Soriyan who is one of the continent’s most consistent nation building consultant.
It was during this period that he stumbled on the works of Dr. Myles Munroe on mental development and Anthony Robbins on neuro associative conditioning and these two icons would later play a big role on how his ideology on family life and human evolution would play out.
In 2009 Praise Fowowe began to pay attention to the works of Richard Bandler on Neuro linguistics programming as well as the works of Millton Erickkson on hypnosis and Virgina Satir which he stumbled on courtesy his friend Innocent Usar who is a Trainer of Neuro Linguistics Programming. He went through all the stages of NLP and discovered the tools that can alter human behavior.
Praise ran a study on the family systems in 45 different nations and the role that plays in their national development. He was also physically present in India, Bahamas, Ghana, Greece, France, UK and USA to observe and survey the systems responsible for human behavior and the roles the subliminal family systems of various families affects the behavior of the products of the families.
The entire research when Praise undertook the study on the 7 mountain model of sphere of influence a concept developed by Bill Bright, the founder of Campus Crusade. In 1975 with Loren Cunningham which opened him up to the role of the family in producing influencers whose thoughts and concepts can positively or negatively affect human behavior.
Praise concluded the work on Family systems Engineering in 2015 and ran the first certification program in 2016 for practitioners who wanted to generate faster results with their clients.
Main Components and Core Concepts edit
Family systems Engineering can be understood in terms of four broad components and the central concepts pertaining to those:
Conditioning edit
It says that people are being conditioned consciously or unconsciously and that if evil can be conditioned it means there is a strong possibility that good can be conditioned if we pay attention and are intentional with the way we run our families and raise children. The thought process takes a look into systems that is intentional and duplicable. For example it says there is a structure to getting angry and falling out of love and if those structures can be elicited and understood people can get rid of self sabotaging behavior. It says how people are engineered can either empower or disempower them. Family systems engineering takes a look into the engineering of the human mind, the style of government each family runs and how it affects everything the man becomes including his society.
Governance edit
It seeks to understand the style of government that best serves families based on their pre-determined desires. It posited that often times what upsets the peace of couples is the attachment to the systems of government that raised them. For example Africa is mostly pseudo democracy that is actually autocratic and the study says no one is permitted to be above a pre-determined system of government or else there would be inequality. The study believes we must co-create a system of government that serves the best interest of every citizen of the family. So it sees a family that runs like a nation with a clear vision, values, culture, ethos and constitution
Peace edit
The trust of this study is on how we can eliminate the walls that separates humanity and how we can come together to promote our best interest. The study says we are all threatened by same enemies so why do we pretend as if some are more immune to evil than others. It uses a lot of etymology to elicit the real meaning of several words whose original meaning has been lost to time and it says we must all come together to accept ourselves as man made in God’s image and be kind to one another even if we have different beliefs about different areas. The creators of the future are those who can take hold of the systems that govern human behavior and effectively deploy it for the good of humanity.
Techniques or Set of Practices edit
According to Praise Fowowe Family systems Engineering can be understood once the codes that can promote the general wellbeing of the family is understood. It seeks to promote a team based marital system where everyone works for the common good of all and it has a technique that is used to elicit the formation that different families play and how to create what is called a dream team. But it also has a practice whereby every family is expected to build certain systems that supports and promotes their overall well being.
Applications edit
Family systems Engineering has helped several couples overcome the need for divorce as it brings clarity to the real issues and charts the way forward. It is also being embraced as a standard pre-marital template by singles in a number of African nations. It helps people see the real problem and take responsibility for their lives as against trading blames.
It has also been adopted by a number of religious organizations as a standard template for marital preparatory class.
Associations, Certification, and Practitioner Standards edit
Family systems Engineering Certification is a major certification program now by Institute of family Systems Engineering Development. It runs a 56 hour class work and 300 field work for practitioners who seek to use the FSE approach to assist families build an effective family life and has a standard faculty with various top notch academic icons taking various modules.
Practitioners have a practice that is akin to medical practice and they have a oath that positions them to save a marriage first before money and professionals are held by this standard
