User:Neuropol/CVUA/Neuropolitan intro

Welcome wanderer, prospect, or student to the Neuropolitan Counter-Vandalism Unit Academy! With the feedback and help of other experienced counter-vandals, I have modernized the Counter-Vandalism Unit Academy, and propose a new model, still in line with the CVUA syllabus, for training counter-vandals.

The Neuropolitan model is new and experimental. This does not make it better, more effective, or more prestigious than any other paradigm of counter-vandalism. It is simply an approach with an aim to modernize a model which has not been updated in years.

What is the Neuropolitan model?

edit

The Neuropolitan model, named after me (Neuropol), aims to modernize the Counter-Vandalism Unit Academy in response to the development of vandalism.

The Neuropolitan model:

  • Attempts to facilitate critical thinking among its students
  • Actively facilitates cooperation, dialogue, and participation between students, allowing the sharing of ideas and constructive criticism from peers
  • Focuses on new developments in vandalism
  • Allows users to "specialize", with optional courses in subtle vandalism, integrity, dispute resolution, and becoming an instructor.

Student information

edit

Being a Neuropolitan student, and graduating a Neuropolitan academy, is no more prestigious than any other similar achievement in the CVUA.

What to know

edit

As a student of mine, you will be expected to do tasks assigned to you in a timely manner. Users who are inactive for a week without notice will fail.

You will be exposed to more "nuanced" methods. Instead of filling out diffs and answering simple questions, you will be asked to join teamwork exercises with other students, participate in mock scenarios, and answer open-ended questions with no "right" answer.

Feel free to use this talk page as a prospect and a student for questions, interacting with other students, and guidance.
