N-Strike Elite is a Nerf series that mostly consists of N-Strike blasters with upgraded performances. It is the direct succesor to the N-Strike line. It is named after the N-Strike Elite video game, which was released in 2011.

History

Early months

Hasbro launched the N-Strike Elite line on August 1, 2012 with the release of the Retaliator, Rampage, and Stockade in American stores. The flagship blaster of the line, the Hail-Fire, was released on September 9.

On September 8, a Wired article mentioned two blasters that would be released in 2013. These were the Firestrike and the RoughCut 2x4. Nerf also released the Sonic Ice and Elite Repaint sub-series in 2012.

By 2013, Hasbro discontinued the weaking N-Strike line completely due to the growing popularity of the N-Strike Elite series.

2013-present

To the begin of 2013, Nerf released the N-Strike Elite Mega, a N-Strike Elite sub-series featuring blasters firing the new Mega dart.

The second generation of N-Strike Elite (Elite XD) is going to be launched in fall 2014 with the release of the Cam ECS-12.

Blasters

With over twenty blasters released in two years, N-Strike Elite is one of the most rapidly expanding Nerf series ever.

First generation blasters

The first generation of N-Strike Elite began with the release of the Hail-Fire in 2012. The first generation features ranges of up to 75 ft. (25 meters) and are mostly colored in the blue, white and orange N-Strike Elite colorscheme.

Hail-Fire

The Hail-Fire is the flagship blaster of the N-Strike Elite line. It features a eight-clip capacity rotating rack underneath the blaster.

Rampage

The Rampage is the successor to the N-Strike Raider Rapid Fire CS-35. It comes without any sort of stock.

Retaliator

The Retaliator is the direct successor of the Recon CS-6. It features an improved Recon main pistol, a rifled Recon barrel, a much more sturdier stock, a twelve dart clip, and an assault grip.

Stockade

The Stockade is a remodeled Barricade RV-10 with slightly improved performances (Accuracy, range, R.O.F. etc.). Unlike its predecessor, the Stockade comes with a stock which features space for ten dart.
