Wikipedia Knowledge

There is a Wikipedia:Cheatsheet for formatting. It will definitely come in handy when I am composing my first article.

We'll see if that worked. I'm really not yet confident of my Wikipedia abilities.

To write in Wikipedia, you must create references. For example, if I were to tell you that Dr. James E. Alatis was born on July, 13 in Weirton, West Virginia, I would need to provide the reference [1]

However, you must also provide a list of references at the bottom of the page so that individuals know where to go to verify your information. Often it is nice to provide a header so that it is not confusing for the reader to find the references.

to do's

edit

It is easy to create a bulleted list in Wikipedia. For example, here is my to-do list.

  • Write first chapter/publishable article on use of technology in my oral history project
    • Research wikipedia formatting
    • Find sources for the ideas of real-time creation of knowledge
    • Discuss ethics in the publication of an individual's information to the web during an oral history project
    • Discuss the idea of co-creation as a new way to conduct research; the wisdom of crowds
