Speedy deletion nomination of Watseka wonder edit

Please refrain from introducing inappropriate pages, such as Watseka wonder, to Wikipedia. Doing so is not in accordance with our policies. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Strikerforce (talk) 04:44, 20 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

March 2011 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Phearson (talk) 04:44, 20 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

A note about reliable sources edit

Hi! As a general rule, messageboard forums are typically not considered reliable sources for Wikipedia. If, by chance, a subject is discussed in a forum thread and the information is sourced in that thread, then it is preferred that the source of the information be cited, rather than the thread. Strikerforce (talk) 06:46, 20 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

The hangon tag does not apply to Watseka wonder edit

FYI - The {{hangon}} tag does not apply to the Watseka wonder, at the present time. The tag is only applicable to articles that are nominated as candidates for speedy deletion (CSD), not those which are currently being discussed at AfD, as this article is currently. Please do not readd the hangon tag.

Also, I have now copy-edited the article twice for proper grammar. Please do not make any grammatical changes to the article as it currently stands. I will continue to help you with the grammar, if you would like. Strikerforce (talk) 07:55, 20 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hello, Per WP:IDIDNTHEARTHAT I need to clarify something to you, since it appears that you do not understand WP:BURDEN.You need to add these sources to the article. You need to put in-line citations into the article. You can remove the tags yourself if you believe you have fixed the problem. Phearson (talk) 16:23, 20 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Images that you uploaded edit

I'm surprised that you haven't received a message from one of the bots yet, but there is a problem with the images that you uploaded for use in the Watseka Wonder article. While I agree with your fair-use rationale, you still need to provide other information - specifically, the source that you got the photos from - in the template on the file pages in order for them to remain on Wikipedia. There are several bots that automatically remove images without a full rationale after a certain time period, so you'll want to do this rather quickly.

I commend you on your continued work on the article, by the way! I have had several editors lately who have done nothing but complain and argue after their articles were sent to AfD. You, on the other hand, have made continued attempts to better the article and make sure that it doesn't get deleted (or at least stands a better chance of survival), rather than complain. Much respect! I have made a couple of changes to the article, in terms of layout, that make it a bit easier to read. Keep up the good work! Strikerforce (talk) 18:11, 20 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

The Resilient Barnstar edit

  The Resilient Barnstar
As a token of appreciation for your attitude toward the ongoing process regarding the Watseka Wonder article and your continued effort toward improving it, rather than portraying a negative attitude at AfD, I would like to honor you with The Resilient Barnstar (the first that I have given out in my 2+ years as a registered user, by the way)! Gashole edit

Thanks for contributing new article Gashole. However, one of Wikipedia's core policies is that material must be verifiable, by being clearly attributed to reliable sources. Please help by adding more sources to the article you created, and/or by clarifying how the sources already given support the material (see here for how to do inline referencing). Many thanks! PS If you need any help, you can look at Help:Contents/Editing Wikipedia or ask at Wikipedia:New contributors' help page, or just ask me. Quotation Removal edit

I removed the quote because it does not appear to add anything to the article. It is not a famous quote or anything widely cited by the media or anyone else. It is rather generic and actually reads more like a selling point for a book or something. Beach drifter (talk) 20:12, 10 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hello again. To reiterate, I have been removing the quote because it is not relevant, it is not important, it adds nothing to the article, this woman is not known for saying this quote. It is not my opinion, I have nothing against this person, I have just been trying to keep the article inline with wikipedia standards, or else the entire article may be deleted. Beach drifter (talk) 14:13, 11 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
I have finally taken the time to look into the person in question here. The content I have been finding at about.com and the other sites you have listed is ENTIRELY promotional. She is trying to sell books and dvds. Beach drifter (talk) 14:17, 11 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Notification of automated file description generation edit

Your upload of File:Ashraf and her husband.jpeg or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks! File permission problem with File:Ashraf and her husband.jpeg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Ashraf and her husband.jpeg, which you've attributed to https://fa.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D9%BE%D8%B1%D9%88%D9%86%D8%AF%D9%87:%D8%A7%D8%B4%D8%B1%D9%81_%D9%BE%D9%87%D9%84%D9%88%D9%8A_%D8%AF%D8%B1_%D9%83%D9%86%D8%A7%D8%B1_%D9%87%D9%85%D8%B3%D8%B1%D8%B4_%D8%A7%D8%AD%D9%85%D8%AF_%D8%B4%D9%81%D9%8A%D9%82.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 21:35, 15 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
