Nadim Ahmad Al-Hasani is a British academic researcher in Arabic philosophy based at Hertford College, the University of Oxford, England. Nadim is a former pupil of the Strand School in London and the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) at the University of London where he graduated in Arabic studies in 1993. Nadim's research at Oxford University lies in the medieval Arabic philosophical tradition incorporating the schools of Ibn al-'Arabi, Al-Ghazali and Averroes (Ibn Rushd). Nadim also studied under Sir Michael Dummett former Professor of Logic at the University and a prominent Member of All Souls College. In 2002 Nadim was widely supported by notable Oxford University scholars and student societies including Professor Michael Dummett after successfully challenging the University in the Court of Appeal in London on informal tests which unlawfully discriminated against minority students in a landmark legal ruling. Professor Dummett who supported Nadim in his bringing his unprecedented legal challenge was also Knighted by H. M. Queen Elizabeth II for his contribution to "racial justice and philosophy".
