The National Association of State Credit Union Supervisors, commonly known as NASCUS, is the professional regulators association representing state credit union regulatory agencies. Founded in 1965, NASCUS is the primary resource and voice of the state governmental agencies that charter, regulate and examine the nation's state-chartered credit unions. NASCUS works to preserve the independent authorities of state agencies and supports the enhancement of the state charter. NASCUS also represents the interests of state agencies before Congress and is the liaison to federal agencies, including the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA).
