Stenocybe procrastinata E.B.Peterson is a species of calicioid fungus.[1]
Description edit
This non-lichenized fungus is characterized by stalked ascomata with passive spore dispersal resulting in an accumulation of spores over the surface. The spores are typically 3-septate and approximately μm in length.
Range edit
Known arid portions of western North America including the states of Nevada and California; suspected from Idaho and likely occurs in other arid western states.
Habitat edit
Bark of Cercocarpus ledifolius (Curl-Leaf Mountain Mahogany). It primarily occurs within cracks beneath the outer bark flakes and therefore requires rather old trees for habitat.
