Paul Pacifico is a British musician, music industry campaigner and entrepreneur based in London, England.

Background edit

Born in London in 1975, Pacifico was first taught violin by his grandfather, who performed under the pseudonym Alf Pacey before learning alto saxophone and finally the Harmonica.

Pacifico graduated in French with European Studies from the University of Sussex in Brighton and with a Certifcat d'Etudes Politiques from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques in Aix-en-Provence, France.

In 1998, Pacifico began a career in the City of London, first in banking for Guinness Mahon and then Investec followed by strategy consultancy Penumbra Partners where he became a Certified Fraud Examiner in 2003.[1]

Musical career edit

In 2003, Pacifico set up Specific Music and in 2004 established The AllStars Collective, a group of UK-based session musicians that includes several notable individuals including Nikki Yeoh,[2] Luke Smith (session musician),[3] Jim Mullen,[4] Angelo Starr[5] and Imaani.[6][7]

The AllStars released their first album of original material 'All About The Music' in 2008 which was produced by and featured Hamish Stuart of the Average White Band.[8]

Since then Pacifico has gone on to work with brands like Gibson and Aston Martin,[9] charities such as Save the Children[10] and artists such as Maceo Parker[11] through his company, Specific Music.[12]

Pacifico Blues edit

Pacifico began playing the Harmonica again in 2005 after a break of around 10 years. Since then, he formed Pacifico Blues[13] in collaboration with AllStars guitarist Chris Newland.[14] Pacifico Blues is signed to Right Recordings[15] and their debut album 'One More Party' is due for release in 2014. The album features guest performances by Jocelyn Brown as well as other collaborators and musicians from The AllStars. The album was mixed by Haydn Bendall at Strongroom Studios and mastered by Mazen Murad at Metropolis Studios in London.

The AllStars Collective edit

The AllStars Collective has been engaged to perform as house band for a number of high profile events including the launch of Team GB for the London 2012 Olympics.[16]

The AllStars Collective were chosen to act as a 'Dot London Pioneer' to promote the launch of the new dot London TLD.[17]

Pacifico was referenced in the Dot London campaign including quotes in the London Evening Standard[18] and the Daily Telegraph.[19]

Music Industry Campaigner edit

In 2013, Pacifico was elected to the board of the Featured Artists' Coalition,[20] an organisation which campaigns for artists' rights in the music industry. Through his position at the FAC, Pacifico sits as an observer to the Board of UK Music.

He has spoken at industry events for organisations such as the music industry think tank run by The University of Westminster, Music Tank,[21] including contributing a guest editorial to their newsletter[22] and been quoted on industry issues in the national press.[23]
