I would like to deprecate {{Certification Cite Ref}} as an external, usable template, keeping it only as an internal template of {{Certification Table Entry}}. Let me explain. I created {{Certification Cite Ref}} in 2011 for two purposes. The first was as an internal part of {{Certification Table Entry}}, used for easily creating named references through {{cite certification}}. The second was to allow reuse of references from {{Certification Table Entry}} inside the article. The first purpose is well served and used without a problem for the last 12 years. However, the second purpose has become problematic. First and foremost, it provides a non-standard solution to a problem which already has a standard solution. Named references can be created through the |refname= parameter (added in 2014) and reused explicitly. The solution used by {{Certification Cite Ref}} is unique for this template, unfamiliar to all but very few editors, and thus makes editing awkward for new editors. Second, it tends to break to easily. The named ref is {{{region}}}{{{artist}}}{{{title}}}{{{type}}}CertRef, so if any of these parameters is changed in the table, the reference breaks. I've seen this quite often.
