At the moment I don't have the time (or probably the skill) to get any articles up to Featured Article status. However my current goal is to try and get a few articles up to Good Article status this year.

  • Check all references
    • Replace broken ones
    • Expand bare links with a citation template
    • Ensure that there are some offline references
    • Ensure that sources are reliable
  • Check images
    • Check suitability of current images
    • Check captions of current images
    • Find relevant images from commons
    • Check the licensing status of all images

Intermediate stuff edit

  • Check neutrality
    • Remove POV
    • Formalise tone
    • Remove peacock words
  • Check original research
    • Remove any unsourceable OR
    • Reword sourceable OR
    • Ensure all potentially controversial statements are well sourced
    • Ensure POV sources are replaced or remove the problem text
  • Check copyright status of blocks of text
    • Google every block of text
    • Check large blocks against nearby sources
    • Any text in public domain should be marked as such
  • Manual of style
    • Lead section
    • Layout
    • Words to watch
    • List incorporation

Hard stuff edit

  • Prose
    • Clear and concise
    • Encyclopedic tone
    • Addresses main aspects of the topic
    • Remove unnecessary detail -> WP:Summary style
