The Advocate Series

edit

After retiring from practicing law, Burrell owned various businesses and taught in several school districts in Southern California. Her first novel, ''The Advocate'', was written simply to "see if she could write a novel..". After failing to find a publisher, due her inability to write a compelling query letter, the manuscript was shelved for over 3 years. Finally, after attending writers workshops, rewriting and editing her novel, and crafting an effective query letter, The Advocate was published in 2009 by Echelon Press. In 2010, the second book in the series was published, this time by Zova Books, called The Advocates Betrayal.
