Stockport is south of Manchester. It has three mains rivers - the Mersey, the Goyt and the Tame.

Stockport has been populated since the Iron Age. Roman remains have been found in Marple. People from Stockport are called Stopfordians.

Stockport College is a Higher Education institution on the A6.
