“Angels of Mauritania and the Curse of the Language“ is a Mauritanian novel that chronicles four days in the life of an ordinary Mauritanian family whose life is always set to zero by different circumstances. It is always set to zero due to the “curse of the language” that they inherited from their ancestors and they are unable to put an end to it.

The novel also brings new insights about social relations and how they propel all aspects of the Mauritanian life.

The main character of the story, the man, does the impossible to improve the life of his family but because of the dependence that he inherited he found himself obliged to take a decision he did not even want to think about. But would it be a solution to his problems?

The events take place in the capital city of Mauritania, Nouakchott, where hopeful and pessimist characters found life and struggle to survive.

The novel is written by the Mauritanian Mohamed Bouya Bamba https://www.facebook.com/mouhamedbouyabamba who is a Nouakchott University graduate and he actually pursues his doctoral studies in Kent State University in the State of Ohio.
