Save our Seat

This page is about the Mornington Peninsula group Save our seat

Save our seat is a group focused on the Mornington Peninsula with the aim of controlling the chairlift development of Arthurs Seat, Victoria.[1] The number of members is unknown but has been generalized on their website to be the residents of Arthurs Seat plus a few from surrounding areas. [2] this suggests a membership in the area of 373[3] however this is not reflected by the 150 petition signatures collected at a recent protest. [4] The group appears to have no official spokesperson and its only published contact is to a Gmail account. [5]

Since failing to prevent the local council from passing the new chairlift planning permits [6] The group has now focused its efforts on selling alcohol and concert tickets through its website[7] to fund their upcoming campaign at the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal[8]

Kylie Greer, a member of the group has stated she will be running in the by-election of Mornington Peninsula’s Red Hill Ward with one key issue to stop the Arthurs Seat development [9] despite the council already voting in favor of the issue.[10]
