An introduction

edit

My name is Simon Cope and i appear to now be a wikipedian. I've mostly been using it for information (often recreationally) and hanging around the occasional talk page. I intend to start taking the whole, "Be Bold" thing a bit more to heart and helping where i can, editing articles, (probably starting with the Peter Wyngarde articles, where i spotted a bit where i feel i can...improve matters.)

Not entirely sure what to do with this userpage, if I break any rules (written or otherwise) please leave me a note or something.

Opinions

Well, everybody has plenty of them, but for the record i believe that to a strong degree that Wikipedia appears to be delete-happy. Having recently participated in the AfD Reguarding the Charby The Vampirate webcomic article, i'm probably just a little jaded. Still, i'd rather see wikipedia include something than exclude something, assuming the topic is of interest to someone and the article is or can easly be made conform to wikipedia's standards and of sufficient content.

===Webcomics=== seem in my opinion particularly ludicrous when compared to the wiki standards for notability. Does every webcomic happily on the site really have to be so 'important' that it has had a mention in The Times? Of course not, that's silly and not what it says even. The point is, i am not sure that i agree with where exactly the line is drawn. I should probably look into the Webcomic Project, but i'm hardly a seasoned contributer yet, so i shall merely keep an eye on. Or perhaps, i will simply funnel any webcomic related urges of mine to Wiki's more open minded neighbor, Comixpedia
