Howl Griff, formed in Wales in 2006, are a four piece psychedelic rock band currently signed to the Dockrad label.[1] The band contains members from Aberystwyth, Bolton, Merseyside and Texas but all currently live in London. They have released two records: Howl Griff, in Welsh, and The Hum, in English. They have received airplay on BBC 6 Music, BBC Radio Cymru and BBC Radio Wales. They are currently working on a third album entitled Sharkfins in the Sky set for release in early 2012.

2008-2010: Howl Griff

Released on the Dockrad label and produced by former Catatonia guitarist Owen Powell and engineered by Tim Lewis (Spiritualized, Coil), Welsh-language album Howl Griff received airplay on BBC Radio Cymru and BBC Radio Wales, and the band appeared on S4C shows Bandit and Uned 5 playing songs from the album.

2010-2011: The Hum

The album, launched in late 2010 on the Dockrad/Catdog Label featured the singles Bluebirds, Crash and Burn, Devotion and Sunrise. Tracks from the album were played across BBC Six Music and described by Lauren Laverne as "bloody lush".[2]

2011-Present:

The band are currently recording a new record, entitled Sharkfins In The Sky which will be released early 2012.

Both Nick Moore and Steve Kennedy are namesakes of former professional sportsmen. [3][4] Both Nick Moore and Gary Parkinson currently work for a sporting magazine. [5][6]
