Mr Tan has, since his appearance on the day that his earlier account ceased trading, acted in an arrogant way towards other editors, attacking their English and their editing skills (despite the fact that his are extremely poor). He has tried to take over articles, to the extent of blanking Zanskar and replacing it with a message to readers to choose between two linked versions. His manner to other editors is peremptory and demanding. Two RfCs (Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Mr Tan and Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Chan Han Xiang) have had little effect on him (beyond leading him to loudly assert that he knows that his English is poor; this hasn't affected his behaviour in any other way, though). Attempting to reason with him is like being sucked into a quicksand of obscurely worded, insistent complaints and demands, with no progress.

His approach (and style) is summed up by a couple of recent comments:

  • "This is causing in the increasing number of articles needing attention, and consensus, to me, is not perfectly reliable."[1]
  • "If all of you want consensus, but the thing is wrong itself in reality, this makes wikipediaimperfect"[2]
