Up From Ashes is an American rock band that formed in 2003 in Harrodsburg, Kentucky. The band originally comprised of Dustin Morris (lead vocals/guitar), Miles Jackson (bass), Stuart Warren (lead guitar), and Nick Carter (drums). CJ Grigsby would eventually replace drummer Nick Carter in 2006, and Caleb Butcher replaced guitarist Stuart Warren in early 2007.

Up From Ashes has sold over five albums in the United States alone. The band's first EP, Cold Drinks was released for digital download on iTunes, among other online music stores, on August 3rd, 2010. Cold Drinks has not been certified Platinum by the RIAA nor has it broken into the Billboard 200 music charts. Other releases consist of an upcoming live album from their mediocre, at best, performance at The Underground in Cincinnati, OH on June 25th, 2010.

History

edit

Formation (2003–2004)

edit

In the early days, there was "Mic Check". That's all that mattered, and frankly, it's all that was holding the band together as Miles' copious drug use was putting the band's future in shambles.

Struggling to make it (2004-2007)

edit

The subject head really says it all. Not much happened, a few songs that didn't matter were written and no one cared.

Still struggling to make it (2007-2010)

edit

Then the band got two brand new members, and it did virtually nothing. Oh, and the band got a Twitter account in which they used to threaten major political leaders and well-known celebrities.

Cold Drinks and the future, if any (2010-present)

edit

On August 3rd, 2010, Up From Ashes released their first EP, Cold Drinks for digital download through iTunes, among other online music stores.

The future looks grim for Up From Ashes. At best, their EP, Cold Drinks, after taking an entire year to produce and release, will end up in a $.99 bin at Minit Marts in the Harrodsburg/Harrodsburg-South area, and will likely sell no copies and be given away to an incoherent passerby on the day the store goes out of business and then be used as a weapon against skateboarding teenagers down near the old fort. Also, Caleb might buy an amp one day.
