Stephen Shakey

Stephen Shakey (Born Stephen Reginald-Thomas Shakey, February 30th, 1989) is a young emerging Australian singer and songwriter. He is best known for making the initial cut in the 2008 edition of "Australian Idol". Stephen is currently writing an album titled "The Deep Crevasse", and is expecting to release it in early 2012.

Early Life

Stephen Shakey was born in Gamguruntee, Northern Ireland as the middle child in a family of 13 (1 boy, 12 girls) to his mother James. His family moved from Northern Ireland when he was merely 4 months old because of a giant sink-hole which engulfed their 2 story bungalow. They arrived in Australia in late June 1989, and started a new life in the capital of Canberra. Stephen attended schools in southern Canberra which is renowned for it's terrible educational institutes, crime rate and pot plants, but despite the almost Arab like environment, Stephen excelled in Math, English and Psychogenic Computerized Statistics. After graduating from Lanyon Valley Highschool, Stephen emerged into a rather unorthodox scene of playing professional hopscotch, which was unusual for a male with such coordination. But teaming up with his new found friend, Christopher Kelly, the pair ahniallated all opposition to be crowned the kings of the sport. After winning the trophy. Stephen abandonned the hopscotch scene to reveal his new talent to the world, a voice of soft tones, energetic harmonics, and graceful integrity.

The Talent

Stephen visited the "Australian Institute of Vocalistic Creations" in Melbourne to find out whether he had what it took to make it big on the alternative music scene. After many weeks of practice sessions and trial performances with local grown pop star Ryan Bailey, Stephen was ready for the one tournament he was about to get aced in . . . Australian Idol!
