My name is Mayu, I’m currently an international student from Japan, studying at Everettt Community College for a general studies degree. My interests involve playing soccer and shopping. Fashion is a big part of my life and my favorite brand is Addidas. I love to travel to many different countries and meet new people.

Wikipedia is a great source of information when I’m looking for different kinds of information. Although the sources are not always accurate or up to date, there are still useful to get a basic understanding of information. We can also get information from Wikipedia by not only looking at the page, but also by asking questions.

Article review

One of the bands I have been interested in since I came to America is the Japanese band called Kinoko teikou. I decided to visit the Wikipedia page of Kinoko teikoku in order to see how it is set up and was disappointed to see that there were multiple issues issues. Three aspects that I had found worth commenting was, lack of citations, how recent the information is, and it’s completeness.

I was not able to find any citation on this page that gave helpful information about the band. I only saw two links that brought me to the official site as well as a reference link to the Oricon Alubms chart. I understand why Wikipedia page doesn’t have information about the band because it is a little bit hard to find helpful information even though it is in Japanese. And on the list of instruments that the members use are not cited such as a guitar, drums and bass which are on Wikipedia pages.

Up-to-date

The page Oricon Alubms Chart had gave me information regarding the different songs. While they mention a few albums, the most recent was on November 14th, 2016. While it isn’t old, the information was possibly last updated two years ago. I would say Wikipedia page of Kinoko teikoku has not been updated properly, and it seems very up-to-date.

Completeness

Wikipedia page doesn’t have as much as information regard this band. For instance, it doesn’t have a list of music videos from YouTube, having information on member’s Twitter or official Facebook accounts, YouTube channel, as well as information on the band members.

Summary

Overall, I would rate this page as “Not Good” when seeing how updated this page should be. I have compared this page to Japanese version, and I can say that Kinoko teikoku’s Wikipedia page has more information than its English counterpart. While it doesn’t have citations it is up-to-date. However, Wikipedia page of Kinoko teikoku could be developed more than the current page. For example, making the lists of official their pages, adding and updating the their information and making lists of their official pages are good way to develop Wikipedia of Kinoko teikoku.
