Category:History The Manawa School District was reorganized on October 25, 1962. The original school, built in 1920, was located on Depot Street where the current Senior Village is located. The school was added to and remodeled six times. Little Wolf High School was built at 515 East 4th Street. This was after a fire destroyed part of the school on Depot Street. The school on Depot street became the Grade School and taught grades 1-8. The district also had a Kindergarten in located Symco. In 1973 the Manawa Elementary School was built at 585 East 4th Street, and it was a 1-4 grade building. In 1996 a referendum approved the building of a new Middle School and additions to the elementary and high schools. The Middle School moved from Depot Street to 800 Beech Street. The new location placed all three schools near each other.
