Radeon Profile Tool or just RadeonPro, is a freeware tool designed for tweaking of AMD™ Radeon™ video graphics cards. Created by John Mautari (creator of other benchmarking tools like Crysis Warhead Benchmark tool and Alien vs Predator Benchmark tool), RadeonPro's development is being driven by the enthusiast community, mostly from Guru3D, Rage3D and XtremeSystems users since its start, and it's still under heavy development.
The user needs to define the desired 3D settings for each game, settings are automatically applied when the game process is started.
There are basic 3D controls for everybody's use and advanced controls like Scripting, Driver Compatibility feature, Compabitility profiles for Anti-Aliasing and CrossfireX, allowing advanced users to automate tasks like overclocking before gaming, and things not possible before like forcing Anti-Aliasing on games not yet supported by the Catalyst driver. RadeonPro can also help CrossfireX users to force multi-GPU utilization in games not supported by the driver, which may improve games performance.
Main features of RadeonPro
edit- Profile List - Create individual profiles for games with best settings for each one. The settings are applied as soon RadeonPro detects the game starting, automatically.
- Basic controls - Easy access to basic image quality settings, like Anti-Aliasing level and mode and Anisotropic filtering.
- Advanced controls - Access to advanced driver features, like Anisotropic optimization, Surface Format optimization, Texture LOD (Level of Detail) and Flip Queue Size settings.
- Tweaks - There are options to control vertical synchronization, triple buffering, forced monitor refresh rate, and some exclusive features to force Anti-Aliasing or CrossfireX on games not supported by the video driver.
- Advanced Tweaks - Control CPU affinity, process priority, override video display adapter identifier to make a game think the image is being rendered by a different card.
- Compatibility Profiles - RadeonPro can help better compatibility with some games that become unstable after a driver update by forcing the game to use a different version of D3D/OpenGL driver parts.
- Script Automation - Scripts in RadeonPro can serve to automate tasks like overclocking the video card right after a game is started, or to load a Catalyst profile with definitions for Eyefinity.
- Interface Skins - The program interface can be changed with a few clicks.
- OSD Features - Display useful information directly on game screen, such as a FPS counter and some unique features, the CrossfireX bar to measure multi-GPU performance visually.
- OSD Features - There are also functions to take high quality screenshots from game screen directly to files, and to display extra OSD information like a new AMD Radeon logo. Other functions are planned on future versions, like GPU temperature, fan speed monitoring and so on.
- Windows 7 support - full support of JumpLists when Windows 7 is detected.
- New Profile Wizard - Helps creation of new game profiles using a step-by-step guide.
- Choose Game - The game can be selected from the hard drive, Windows Games Explorer or Steam Games Library.
- User's Guide - Online User's Guide with Community collaboration to make it more complete and feature rich.
