Simon Arizpe is an illustrator and paper engineer.

Simon Arizpe is a graduate of the Pratt Institute and resides in Brooklyn, New York.

Career edit

Simon Arizpe served as the senior paper engineer and illustrator for the studios of Robert Sabuda and Matthew Reinhart for a decade. He has worked on over 40 pop-up books. Simon is the professor of paper engineering and three dimensional design at the Pratt Institute and Parsons School of Design in New York City. Some of Simon's clients include the The Washington Post, Blizzard Entertainment, Workman Publishing Company, the Arperture Photo Foundation, Fantagraphics Books, Google, Disney, Paramount Pictures, DC Comics, and Hasbro Toys. Simon has designed holiday cards for the Museum of Modern Art. He is the recipient of the 2018 Meggendorfer Prize, the highest honor in pop-up book design. His pop up book "The Wild" has been made part of the collection of the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum library. [1][2][3][4][5]
