Origins
editFounded in 1956 as a backyard day camp by Bert Fine. Fine was a physical education teacher at Forest Hill Collegiate at the time.
Bathurst Manor Day Camp
editFine purchased valley lands adjacent to the Don River in North York, Ontario as the new location for the camp. The name was changed to Bathurst Manor Day Camp.
Forest Valley Day Camp
editIn the late 60's the name was changed to Forest Valley Day Camp although many people continued to call it "Bert Fine Camp" as it was known by the first clients.
