MarkThree, Some twenty five years ago my wife and I were traveling throught the Southwest. Traveling north from Flagstaff on Arizona highway 89 we made a hasty decision. Instead of turning to the left to revisit the Grand Canyon, we continued to the right traveling to the Hopi Reservation. On the second day of our visit we were encouraged to visit First Mesa to view a Katsina Dance. We did. It opened up a new world to us. We made many new friends on the Hopi and Navajo Reservations, and have revisited them many times. I have enjoyed these visits which prompted me to further study and read of the culture and art of the American Indians of the Southwest. I have published two books and a number of articles as a result of my knowledge gained by personal contact with many American Indians (primarily Hopi and Navajo).
