User:Mardus/Dred Scott v. Sandford

This section, which I hastily added without researching for sources, was deleted from Dred Scott v. Sandford. It survived only ten days in the article, until an IP editor removed it.

Ramifications edit

In effect, this turn of events has created an interesting dichotomy for President George W. Bush, a Republican neoconservative, other neocons, the Republican Party and its voter base in a wider sense: Bush doesn't like Scott because it was material for Wade v. Roe, which was incremental in getting pro-choice legislation passed; while at the same time he needs Scott, as it is a base for prosecuting illegal combatants in military commissions for the purposes of the War on Terror.
