Taking a break edit

I'm taking a short break from Wikipedia. Devote the extra time to finishing another book. MarciulionisHOF (talk) 06:50, 24 October 2014 (UTC)

Block log edit

  • I have been blocked 7 days for being insensitive to Palestinian militants who lost their lives in disputed circumstances. In a talkpage comment, where I suggested the compromise "Hamas viewed Israel as responsible <for the deaths>", I was disrespectful to these militants' underground activity and was sanctioned.[1]
  • I have posted a complaint on WP:AE: exaggeration/misrepresentation of Hebrew/Israeli-quotes and allusions between Israeli-Arab matters and the holocaust. Input suggested the post was due to a battleground perspective and a 6 month ban was suggested. I apologize if my presentation was unclear. I also apologize for the unrelated comment I have made two months earlier mentioned by EdJohnston[2] I've asked for direct input on the matter[3], but two AE executives is enough input for me: complaint appears to come from 'battleground'. Retracted.[4]
    • Topic banned indefinitely per [5]. Good show.
    • Archives will not include my last comment.[6]

Catch The Jew edit

We continue our conversation and Gideon tells me he doesn't speak Arabic. I ask him how he can write about the terrible things Israel does to the Palestinians, as he consistently does, if he does not understand the language of those he interviews. Gideon responds that his crew includes Arabic speakers for interview subjects that don't speak English or Hebrew. I remind him that people here speak in two languages, one between themselves and another with foreigners, and that if you can't speak their mother's tongue, they will sell you stories and folk tales. Even Al-Jazeera does this, and supplies two very different points of view: one for the 'brothers' in Arabic; and the other to the Westerners, in English. But Gideon, who doesn't understand Arabic at all, claims this is not the state of affairs. When I ask him if he also reports about Palestinian violations of human rights, he replies the Palestinians are not his business. - http://www.catchthejew.co.il/
