Can this actually be a sandbox, in the sense of the word sandbox? It seems to me if I'm adding categories on here, and it is fowling up the function of categories in Wikipedia in general, then it is the fault of the Wikipedia's systems that directs people to sandbox pages.. rather than the person learning and practicing Wikipedia code inside a *sandbox* (where children play).
Ok, I can see that listing categories with the proper code on a sandbox, actually inserts the page into categories. But my understanding of what a sandbox means is that I'm allowed to play, in the sand without hurting anyone (e.g. Wikipedia's categories tree).
If one can't do that here, where would anyone trying to expand their knowledge of Wikipedia's markup language do that?
I'm currently writing an article on Qianhai, a small lake near the forbidden city in Beijing, China
Qianhai (Chinese: 前海; pinyin: qiánhǎi; literally: "Front Lake") is connected to Houhai via a narrow straights. Qianhai is in Xicheng District of central Beijing, China. Qianhai is the southernmost of the three lakes, along with Houhai (lit. the "Rear Lake") and Xihai (lit. the "Western Lake"), that comprise Shichahai, the collective name for the three northern-most lakes in central Beijing.
Since the early 2000s, the hutong neighborhood around Houhai has become known for its nightlife as many residences along the lake shore have been converted into restaurants, bars, and cafes. The area is especially popular with foreign tourists visiting Beijing and is also often visited by the expatriate community and the younger generations of locals.
The Former Residence of Soong Ching-ling and Prince Gong Mansion are both located in the Houhai neighborhood.
